A little amazing tape

This time there are various tape.That tape that can be pulled out and sticks.It's a familiar adhesive tape that is a necessity for everyone.There are various types, but I will introduce the tapes that I especially like and think, "This is good!"

First of all, transparent tapes.Recently, I use transparent tape to protect the LCD screen.

There is an LCD protective film to protect the screen of smartphones and digital cameras, but minor devices do not have a dedicated film, and if the screen is a curved surface, it cannot be used for other devices film.Then can't I substitute transparent tape?I thought.

There are quite a few transparent tape that matches such a purpose, but there are three items that are highly satisfied.All are 3M products, each of which is the "Scratch-based transparent protection tape PR-01" (official page) "Scotch surface protection tape 331" (official page) "Scratch Guard" (press release).

左から、「キズからまもる 透明保護テープ PR-01」「スコッチ 表面保護テープ 331」「スクラッチガード」。「キズからまもる 透明保護テープ PR-01」は扱いやすい厚みがありますが、幅50mmのみ。大きめ液晶画面の保護には向きません。「スコッチ 表面保護テープ 331」はやや薄手ですが、幅150mm品なども流通していて、液晶画面保護用途に広く使えると思います。「スクラッチガード」はクルマのボディ保護用ラッピングフィルムで本来は大きなフィルムですが、お試し品的なA4サイズのものも売られており、使い勝手も良好。この3品のうちで最も貼りやすく画面保護にも好適です。ただしこのフィルム、スマートフォンなどの高精細な液晶画面に貼ると、貼る方向にもよりますがモアレが出てしまうことがあります。

左から、e-bikeのサイクルコンピュータ、ドアホン子機、iPod touch。貼ったテープは全て「スコッチ 表面保護テープ 331」です。表面に貼ったテープは劣化したら貼り直しする感じなので、わりとテキトーに貼っています。大きな気泡さえ入らなければ、画面はしっかり見えます。iPod touchの写真は、画面オン・オフ時の違いがわかるように並べています。このiPod touchへのテープ貼付はかなり雑に行っていて、気泡がたくさん入っています。しかし実際に使用する際には気泡はほとんど気になりません。ただし、画面オフ時に気泡が多々見えるとiPod touchに限らず「みすぼらしい雰囲気」になりますので、なるべく気泡が入らないようにするのが気分的にいいですネ。

In addition, when used for screen protection of smartphones, I think that it is better not to cover the sensor and camera part.All of them are tape with high transparency, but if you put them on the camera surface, it will look like a soft focus, and if you put it on the face recognition sensor, you may not be recognized.

In any case, in the case of such a tape, I mainly use it for screen protection applications, but it can be widely used for surface protection.Various things, such as frame protection of road bikes, protection of motorcycle coating, damage around the foot of the car, and preventing damage around the doorknob.

If you introduce it with a transparent tape connection, the TRUSCO's "surface protection tape" series (official page) is suitable for preventing damage.It is thinner than the above three types of tape, and it is not suitable for LCD screen protection because it is slightly easier to enter the bubbles, but it is easy to handle as a tape to prevent scratches temporarily.

それから、MINGS&CRAFTS（ミンガスアンドクラフツ）の「時計保護テープ」。これは粘着剤なしの柔らかな透明フィルムで、食品用のラップを厚手にしたようなテープです。店頭で展示する腕時計などの表面保護用。わりと柔軟なので、曲面の画面を覆う用途にも向きます。ただ、粘着力はないので、画面表面への固定には別の何らかのテープが必要になります。
