Jeep customizes electric wrangler, strengthens off-road ... to be announced at SEMA 2021

Jeep will premiere the "Jeep Wrangler 4xe Concept" at the SEMA Show 2021 which will open in the United States on November 2nd (1am, November 3rd, Japan time).

This concept car is based on the plug-in hybrid vehicle (PHV) "Wrangler 4xe" and uses genuine "Jeep Performance Parts" to propose customization that further strengthens off-road orientation.

Lift kit that raises the vehicle height by 50 mm and strong gorilla glass

The suspension was equipped with a JPP lift kit with a FOX shock that was tuned exclusively for the Wrangler 4xe, raising the vehicle height by 50 mm. The 37-inch tires are BF Goodrich's "KM3" combined with JPP beadlock compatible wheels.

A custom underbody lock light illuminates all four corners of the car. This allows drivers to identify and avoid dangerous off-road locations. The JPP steel bumper is equipped with a winch. On top of that is a winch protector with an LED light attached.

The windshield was replaced with "gorilla glass". Gorilla Glass was developed by Corning, Inc., based in the United States, and is up to three times stronger than standard windshields. It is also used on the screens of smartphones, and is known for its excellent strength and scratch resistance, even though it is thin.

By combining the thin inner for gorilla glass of the genuine product brand "Mopar" and the outer with a thickness of 52%, both light weight and durability are achieved. Off-road lights and open tube doors

A JPP 5-inch off-road & LED light was placed on the base of the A-pillar. The open JPP tube door was painted with premium ivory pearl, which is the same color as the body. JPP rock rails and decorative trim are finished in dark neutral metallic gray. Custom decals were added to the fenders and hood.

A full-size spare tire and tire can be installed on the rear with the JPP swing gate hinge reinforcement system. With the JPP center high mount stop lamp movement kit, you can equip the wheel part of the rear spare tire with a high mount stop lamp.

Equipped with Katskin leather seats with a mopar blue finish with tungsten stitching. The three-piece JPP vinyl floor is waterproof. A custom-made JPP instrument panel accessory rail system secures mobile devices such as smartphones and digital cameras. The stainless steel JPP pedal cover has a black rubber pad. The power of the entire PHV system is 375hp

His PHV powertrain on the Wrangler 4xe is a 2.0-liter in-line 4-cylinder gasoline turbo engine with a maximum output of 270hp / 5250rpm and a maximum torque of 40.8kgm / 3000rpm. This engine allows up to 5800 rpm. A twin-scroll low-inertia turbocharger mounted directly on the cylinder head pursues excellent response, performance, and fuel efficiency.

Instead of the conventional alternator, a belt start generator called "e-torque" is adopted. The motor was designed integrally with the 8-speed AT. This motor draws a maximum output of 134hp and a maximum torque of 25kgm. The entire PHV system, which combines the engine and motor, gains 375hp of power and 65kgm of torque. The power performance is 6.0 seconds when accelerating from 0 to 96km / h.

The battery is a lithium-ion battery with a storage capacity of 17kWh. The Wrangler 4xe has three driving modes called "E Selec". The driver operates the button on the left side of the steering wheel to select the powertrain mode. Regardless of the mode selected, it will automatically switch to "hybrid" mode when the battery is low.
